baby card

Here is a slide card I made for a friend who had a little boy. I made one for a little girl that turned out quite lovely but silly me forgot to take a photo of it before I gave it to them so guess you will have to just guess what it looked like from this one. arrg hate it when I do that.

I love the way this one turned out. The saying is from SU but the little boys outfit is from our local shop here in Barlick that I just love. It is called WhichCraft? (http://www.whichcrafts.co.uk/) Go have a look at the web sight. :) They have such lovely things in it. I stamped three different outfits then colored them all in with SU markers and then layered then with gluedots to add a little height to them.

I love the way this one turned out. :)

Hope you enjoy.

Ive been tagged..

Ive been tagged by Chrissy one of my stamping sisters.

So I have to come up with seven facts about myself. hmm this will be interesting.

1. By the time I was 20 my family had moved 52 times. and No neither of my parents are in the military.

2. I get very very sick in my pregnancies to the point I have ended up in the hospital on IVS. I have to take 2 different meds for nausea and being sick. I love my four children and plan on having more someday. :)

3. I am a trained Doula. I hope to someday get my practice up and running over here in the UK again. I hope to take a lactation consultant training soon.

4. I am a parent governor at my children's school.

5. I am terrified of heights. once when I was younger my brother in law to be took my family up in a tower where he worked and when we got off the elevator I literally had wobbly knees I could not let go of the wall by the elevator for fear. Yet I don't have a problem in planes. :)

6. My oldest son had cancer when he was 2. Had surgery to remove one of his kidneys. It will be 5 years this June. yippee!

7. My family knows when I am stressed because I start baking! I love to bake and when I get stressed I will bake and bake and bake. it is my relaxing thing to do!

okay so there are seven things about me. so now I have to tag seven others. hmmmm lets see

10 minute card/Challenge time

Sometime ago I was browsing around some of the blogs I love to read and when I came to Fionaƛ blog she had done this 10 minute card challenge. I thought what a neat idea to do. Thought well someday when I have a minute I will have a go to see what I can come up with. Well that day never came until my daughters birthday the beginning of March and I literally only had 10 minutes to make her card before I had to go pick her up from school. I thought hey what a great time to try this. I set the timer and wala this is what I came up with in 10 minutes! What a great challenge thanks Fiona!

Well I think I am going to set my own challenge on here. Lets see what you can come up with! Have ago at making a card in ten minutes leave me a comment with a link to your blog then I can have a look and see what you came up with. I will give it till next tues then have a judging of the cards. There will be a prize in the end. :)

Have fun ladies.

Birthday Card

Okay this card is one I made for a dear friend up north in Scotland a couple of months ago. Well the post never delivered it to her. :( So somewhere between here and there lies this card. I was waiting to post it till I new she had gotten it but after her not getting it I thought at least I would post the pictures and then she could see what I had sent her. Sorry Rach it did not get to you.

I got this inspiration off of Jennys wonderful blog. I just love the creations she comes up with. I love flowers but had never really tried cutting them and layering them as I have done lately. Then to make a card that has two ways of opening I thought was really neat idea so I had a go.

It is all SU products. I just love the way it turned out. Thanks Jen for your inspirations. :)

Simpathy card..

Here is a sympathy card I made for my DHs great aunt who passed away this past autumn we sent it to my MIL cousin.

I used the stampin pastels again. Can you tell I just love using them. :) Again I used SU products. I dont have a special sympathy stamp so I used a generic thinking of you stamp.

I versa marked the flowers on the side of the card.

Another one....

This is another card I made for the swap. Again it is all SU products. I love how everything goes together so well. I tore the pink paper after I stamped the flowers on. Then added the pearl accents to each flower to give them a little bling.

Card for swap...

I did this card for a swap awhile ago. And of course just getting it up here. I used the stampin´ pastels with these. I attached the cut out flowers with stampin´ dimentionals. I followed a card in the UK caddy but changed a little of the lay out. Hope you like it.

I am having trouble getting my photos up here clearer then they are. DH is going to give me a hand tonight and hopefully will get them so you can see them better. Then I have a few to put up. Working on two baby ones at the moment. Will put those up as well when ready.

I am also working on some cards for a card swap. Only have to do 6 of them eek they have to be to the lady by the 20th! yikes Think I better get moving!

Sorry for being so long in getting more up. It is frustrating when my pics are doing this. Not sure what the problem is. The photos I put up on my other blog are fine, just not of the cards. :(

Trying to come up with some ideas for little boxes? Any ideas? My daughters birthday is in a couple of weeks and she is wanting to take some little cakes into school but I thought it would be really cute to put them into little boxes. Got any suggestions?

Okay going to work on the cards more. Be back soon..I hope :)

Thinking of you card.

This is a card I did for a friend who had surgery mid Dec and is still in the hosp. I thought it might cheer her up. She has had it ruff lately. She is raising three children herself and she has had to have this surgery so they are with her parents at the moment.

I punched the flowers out. Layers them and then in the middle of the flowers I used a gold embelishement. Raised the flowers with 3D foam squares. The flower stamp also has the embelishment.

I stamped a little flower in the corner of the envelope with an embelishment as well. I thought it added a little character to it.

Supplies.

Seeing Spots stamp set SU
Lovely Lilac card stock SU
Pixie Pink ink SU
Flower Punch
Thinking of you stamp
3D foam squares.

DH Birthday Card

Here is the birthday card I made for my DH this past week. I only had about 20 minutes to throw this together while he was out one night. Its not the greatest but with only having a limited supply at the moment I think it turned out pretty good.

Supplies I used:

Year After Year SU stamp set
Cheers and Wishes SU stamp set
Real Red card stock SU
Tempting Turquoise card stock SU
Wisper white ribbon SU
Real Red Ink SU
Silver mirrored paper was some I had on hand.

ps He did not like the color scheme. What do you all think?

Tuesday 15 January 2008

Page Change....

Okay what do you all think? As much as I link pink it just was to bright for me. Not sure if I will stick to this one or not but wondered what you all thought. I am trying to get a better header. My DH has a really nice photo I am going to put on it but that takes a little more time then what I have at the moment.

Yes I will be posting more cards up here. Have lots of design in my head just to get them churned out takes time. :) And trying to find a wee corner in my aboad to have all my supplies together, at the moment they are all in a box so it is a pain to bring them out all the time to do one card. DH is working on getting our front room sorted and once that is done he has promised me a corner for me to have! :) exciting! With still redecorating the house everything is in a bit of a tip. Everything will eventually come together.

Trying to come up with some more ideas on how to promote my stamp classes. I have ladies that are interested but of how to get the word out to others. It is different here then the states in that aspect it was much eaiser to get the word out. I have thought about a flyers, posting up flyers places etc. I have a few catalogues at some stores in town on the counters and of course telling lots of people, but any more ideas girls?

Okay going to finish cleaning before i have to go get the little ones from school

Happy Stampin'

Thursday 10 January 2008

I am back..

Its time to finally get this up. A good motivation is Fiona's Blog Candy that she is offereing!

I guess I better let you all know why I have been MIA for awhile. My DH ended up taking me to A&E last weekend in pain but on a heavy dose of anti now so doing loads better. So after a stint in the hosp I am back up and running.

Few got the cards all stamped and made to realize we were 5 short! urrrr! So had to make 5 more. Then on wed my DCh inform me they want to take choc back to their teachers! Okay me being me cant just send a bar of choc off with out it being decorated! Hey every little advertisement for Stampin Up! helps! So off to the shop to get 6 bars of choc to decorated and get ready for them by 7 in the morning! After a bit of fiddling I managed to get them done (with a few hours of sleep :) ) And the teachers loved them! They were all asking me were I had gotten them from so hopefully something good will come out of all this stamping snowman etc! :)

so here are the cards and choc! I tried to make them simple for the kids to esemble together. :) Sorry they are somewhat blurry my camera is acting up again. uggg!

You will need:

Happy Winter stamps from SU
Angel Policy stamps SU
Brilliant Blue card Paper
Lovely Lilac card Paper
Green Galore card Paper
White card paper
Love notes whisper cards
Silver mirror paper.
Blue/Purple/Green stampin pads
Silver Paint pen
3 glue dots per card

Front view of blue card. I make them in green and purple as well. First stamp the inside of the cards with a greeting of Happy New year. (the photos I got were very blury am going to try and get another one done then will post that.) Then the Angel policy stamp on the back.
Then cut the Silver mirror card stock too be 2 1/4 "x 2". The blue (or what ever color you are using) cards stock to be cut in 2" x 1 3/4 " The white card stock in 1 3/4" x 1". But you need double the amount of white as you have cards you are using two pieces for every card. Then stamp the snowman in the top portion of half of your little white cards. Then take the snow stamp and stamp around the edges of the rest of the little white cards leaving the middle open. Then write 2008 (or what ever you want to write :) ) Then take the two white cards and Affix them together with the snow stamped card laying sideways on top of the bottom of the snowman stamped card in an upside down T shape. Affix the blue (or what ever color you are using) to the silver mirrored card stock. Affix these to the top half of the card. Now take glue dots put one on the top of the upside down T and one on either side. Affix these part way down the center middle of the card so part is on the blue and part is on the white.

Now for the choc!

You will need:

White card stock
Brilliant Blue card stock
Happy Winter SU stamp set
Angel Policy stamp set
White Ribbon
Hole puch

First take the white card stock and depends on how big a bar it is. wrap the choc in the white paper so it covers all four sides so just the two short sides are sticking out fasten this. Then cut a blue piece just a little smaller then the white top piece. I did it to where the top showed the white but the sides had blue all the way to the edges fasten this. Now cut a white peice of card stock so that there is just a 1/4 " of blue showing on all four sides. Take your stamp set and stamp and you are going to do shadowing. First stamp snow all over the bottom of the white card stock. then stamp one tree on the edge and emmediatly with out reinking stamping another tree partly on top. Then another tree this time reinking partly on top again and then stamping again a tree with out inking. Then another tree. Then on the far end of the card stock stamp another tree. Now you can stamp the snowman. Affix this to the middle of the blue on your bar. Now take and cut a small blue oblong for your tags. Then cut a smaller white oblong affix this to the blue one placing it on the right hand side of the tag so that there is more blue showing on the left then the right. Puch a hole in the blue part of the tag on the left hand side. Stamp your "Happy Winter" wording on the cards AFTER you have affixed them onto the blue. Now tie ribbon around the choc bar inbetween the tree and snowman. Slip the tag on before you tie the ribbon then slide it up under the knot.

And there you have your fancy choc bars! I have had so many people asking me were I got them. I already have someone asking me to make them some new year cards for this year! Yipee keep em comin!
